What to expect on Sunday
We are so happy you plan to join us! Our friendly greeters are available to assist you once you arrive. Please don't hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at (870) 867-2554.
Where are we located?
7 miles east of Mt. Ida, 3 miles west of Joplin, and 25 miles west of Hot Springs in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains; just off of scenic Lake Ouachita.
Where do I park?
The easiest entry point for your first visit is to utilize our Guest Parking spots in our front parking lot. Our parking spots do fill up quickly, but Guest Parking is usually available. We also have secondary parking located directly behind our sanctuary off of Bearce Circle.
What time is service?
Our worship service begins at 9:00 am, so we suggest arriving at 8:45 am in order to get parked and take your time getting a seat. Sunday School for all ages takes place after our service starting at 10:15 am. You can find out more about our groups by clicking the groups button above, or please ask a Greeter when you arrive.
What should I wear?
Our church has a "come as you are" atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire. We hope you feel comfortable coming just as you are. How does someone join LOBC?
By Request: Usually during an invitation, you come forward and ask the church to become a member by one of three ways (The pastor or LOBC leader will help you in which way is appropriate):
1. By Baptism
2. By Transfer of Letter
3. By Statement of Faith
We will at a convenient time offer a class for New Members in which you will be expected to participate.
What is needed to join?
1. You need to be a born-again follower of Jesus Christ
1. Repented of Sin & Believe the Gospel
2. Professed belief publicly
1. Testimony
2. Baptism
2. You need to have a "want to" be a part of LOBC.
1. Not under compulsion
2. Fully accept beliefs and expectations of LOBC.
